Our annual overnight sleepover at Kopernik Observatory will be Friday, February 13th.  There will be a meet&greet dinner at 5:30 PM and the classroom programs will begin at 6:00 PM.  After the classroom programs, we will be observing the stars and planets using the Observatory telescopes (weather permitting), enjoying a late evening snack, and watching a movie.  There will be a light breakfast in the morning.

Overnight gear list:
  • Sleeping bag or 2 blankets
  • Pillow
  • Sleeping pad/extra blankets
  • Hat
  • Pajamas appropriate for Cub overnight
  • Toothbrush/paste
  • Small First Aid Kit
  • Cub Scout book
  • NO ELECTRONICS - leave your DS, iPods, mp3 players at home

Directions to Kopernik Observatory: Follow Route 17 West to Route 26 South (Exit 67s). Proceed 5 miles and turn right at Glenwood Road (slightly beyond Vestal Center - note the green observatory sign). Take the first left onto Underwood Road and proceed 1.8 miles up the hill.
